The Midnight Sun Festival x Iceland

F.A.Q

What is Secret Solstice?

Secret Solstice is an Icelandic music festival in it’s sixth year that will take place on the 21st – 23rd of June 2019. It showcases both established artists as well as exciting up-and-coming talent over the course of three days in the 24 hour midnight sun during the summer solstice. The festival is themed after the Norse religion and mythology of old and along with our side-event it’s been described as “one of the most unique events in the world”.

Wait a minute? 24 hour sunlight?

Because of how close Iceland is situated to the arctic circle, the nation gets the full on effect of seasonal changes on a unique scale. During the summer we get long sunny days and as expected winter comes with complete darkness.

Norse mythology? Tell me more?

The summer solstice was a time of bounty in the lives of the Nordic nations and a cause for celebration. The Norse mythology and religion commonly known as the Ásatru is deeply rooted in natural symbolism.

Side-Events?

The festival operates a number of side-events alongside the festival itself. Our Side-Events for 2019 are now open including, Into The Glacier, the world’s only rave in a glacier cave, and The Lava Tunnel 2019, an intimate Icelandic concert in a 5200 years old magma chamber. Our music-driven, nature-inspired side events are very popular and tickets are limited. You can secure your spot and find out details on our 2019 side events here.
