The Midnight Sun Festival x Iceland

Last Week in Review: Óðinn, Gísli, Gauti, and More

There are less than 55 days left (53 to be exact) until Secret Solstice 2015. And as there’s so much happening as we draw closer to our second event, we thought it was about time to put together a weekly recap of the important important stuff you may have missed. Coming to you now every Monday, here’s the first edition…

The big news of the week was that we announced the launch of our ultra-exclusive Óðinn ticket for Secret Solstice 2015, which is on sale now. While priced for exclusivity, this limited ticket will allow you to see Secret Solstice 2015 in a way that almost nobody else will.

Wanna drink and hang out at the private bar where Secret Solstice artists will be? Done. Want alcohol, food, and exclusive viewing areas provided throughout the event? Sorted. How about access to all private media, staff, and artist parties before, during, and after the festival? All included. If this sounds like something you want to experience, check out all the details on the Óðinn ticket, and buy (or upgrade from your existing festival ticket) while they last.

Last week also marked our first Icelandic launch party for Secret Solstice 2015, in association with Lágtíðni at Paloma. We couldn’t have asked for a bigger lineup, with the likes of Alvia Islandia, KSF, Shades Of Reykjavík, DJ Yamaho, and more in attendance. However it was one of our 2015 hip hop acts Gísli Pálmi, wearing this necklace with initials GP, hyped off the back of the epic success of his latest album’s launch a week before, who by all accounts stole the show. At one point literally hanging from Paloma’s rafters, GP delivered a massive performance that we’ve come to expect from him since opening for Schoolboy Q at our 2014 event.

If you’re one of our foreign guests and haven’t yet gotten acquainted with Gísli, here’s the first music video from his latest album:

Keeping with Icelandic hip hop, Secret Solstice 2015 artist Emmsjé Gauti‘s new track (and accompanying music video) was released last week, and has already racked up thousands of views. Check it out in all its glory below, and be sure to catch Emmsjé Gauti at Laugadalur this June.

Lastly, KSF also showed off their latest original mix and accompanying video this previous week as well, along with helping to make our Paloma launch party the night everyone remembered last Wednesday. Step Tech is also featured on the exclusive Secret Solstice 2015 mix the guys put together on our Soundcloud, so take a listen there, or feast your eyes on the video below.

Apart from the major news, we want to thank everyone who has secured their ticket to Secret Solstice 2015 so far. We’re proud to say that April has been our biggest ticket sales month on record, and tickets are still flying out the door at a rapid pace. In case you’re one of the few who hasn’t yet got a pass for our next event featuring the likes of Wu-Tang Clan, FKA twigs, Kelis, The Wailers, Charles Bradley, Skream, Flight Facilities, and more, now is the time.

And for those of you who have been asking online, yes, there is one final lineup announcement coming before our event in June.

Stay tuned…
