Management Support Staff / Longterm Volunteering Roles
We’re looking for a team of hardworking and dedicated people to come in to support the festival delivery team. This is a work placement volunteer position that is suitable for somebody looking for work experience and to gain and learn valuable event delivery skill sets from an experienced event delivery team. This position is for hardworking individuals with good communication skills and administrative skills. Candidates applying for these positions need to submit their CV’s or give valuable information that will help us assess if you are the right person for the job.
You will receive a special access Wristband. At the end of your placement you will be assessed by your work placement manager and given a written reference that you will be able to accompany your CV as a valuable experience reference.
FESTIVAL VOLUNTEER ROLE APPLICATION FORM
Terms and conditions
- MSS’s do not have to pay for the Volunteer Deposit Ticket
- You have to be over 18 years old
- It’s preferable that you have a valid drivers license
- Minimum work placement is every day from the 18th of June until the 28th of June 2019
(PLEASE NOTE: In some roles remote preparation work is required) - You will need to submit your CV and you will be contacted to attend a placement interview no later then the 12th of June 2018 either in person or via Skype
- Successful applicants will be appointed and interviewed as soon as possible.
Artist Liaison Crew
The volunteers from this crew will be helping our Secret Solstice Artist Liaison team with various duties and attending to our artists. This crew can get very busy at times. Not for the star-struck.
NOTE: Applicants with previous Artist Liaison experience get priority placement in the crew and we recommend sending a CV or details your relevant experience to accompany you application
Preferred experience and skills:
- Previous Artist Liaison experience.
- Experience with hospitality.
- Good written and spoken English skills.
- Good people skills and a positive attitude.
Please note:
- You will be provided with a detailed information package about the festival site and your responsbilities in advance to the festival.
- You will be provided with a Secret Solstice volunteer T-Shirt from volunteer accreditation before you placement. It’s mandatory to wear the T-shirt during your shift.
- Please wear closed-toe shoes (no sandals or heels) while on duty.
Shifts:
1 x 12 hour shifts required for a Weekend Wristband. Bear in mind that you could be required to work a night shift in this position.
Box Office / Accreditation Staff
The Box Offices and Accreditation Windows are where we sell and exchange tickets for festival Wristbands, check off guest-lists, check and hand out Press Credentials, and make sure all our Artists, Staff and workers get the right pass for their job. You are the first face that our audience will see. This volunteer Crew is extremely important and needs people that are friendly, honest, and can interact well with people on a number of levels.
Preferred experience and skills:
- Experience with customer service and hospitality
- Basic knowledge of computers
- Good written and spoken English skills
Please note:
- You will be provided with a detailed information package about the festival site and your responsbilities in advance to the festival.
- You will be provided with a Secret Solstice volunteer T-Shirt from volunteer accreditation before you placement. It’s mandatory to wear the T-shirt during your shift.
- Please wear closed-toe shoes (no sandals or heels) while on duty.
Shifts:
1 x 12 hour shift required for a Weekend Wristband. This will require one morning shift and one evening shift.
Merchandise Crew
The Merchandise Crew take care of festival and artist merchandise sales. We’re looking for friendly, helpful and outgoing people that enjoy interacting with people.
Preferred experience and skills:
- Previous experience with retail.
- Previous experience with customer service.
Please note:
- You will be provided with a detailed information package about the festival site and your responsibilities in advance to the festival.
- You will be provided with a Secret Solstice volunteer T-Shirt from volunteer accreditation before you placement. It’s mandatory to wear the T-shirt during your shift.
- Please wear closed-toe shoes (no heels or sandals) while on duty.
Shifts:
1 x 12 hour shifts required for a Weekend Wristband. This will require one morning shift and one evening shift.
Production Assistants Crew
The Production Assistants Crew assists our Production and Event Management with any tasks that arise. This crew has a broad range of tasks ranging from runner duties, assisting stage managers and assisting event control. Volunteers for this crew must be friendly, helpful and be ready to adapt to any situation as it arises.
Preferred experience and skills:
- Experience with event production and management.
- Experience with audio equipment, lighting rigs and stage management.
- Experience with office management and general office duties.
- A valid drivers license.
- Good physical strength and a healthy back
Please note:
- You will be provided with a detailed information package about the festival site and your responsibilities in advance to the festival.
- You will be provided with a Secret Solstice volunteer T-Shirt from volunteer accreditation before you placement. It’s mandatory to wear the T-shirt during your shift.
- Please wear closed-toe shoes while on duty.
- Tasks might include lifting.
Shifts:
1 x 12 hour shift is required for a Weekend Wristband.
Stewarding Crew
This very important volunteer crew makes sure that our audience know where they’re going, how to get there, monitor areas to make sure everything is safe, be able to answer questions from people and help where necessary. Volunteers for this crew must be friendly, helpful and be ready to adapt to any situation as it arises.
Preferred experience and skills:
- Experience with crowd control and security operations
- Experience with First Aid or other medical training
- Experience with customer service and hospitality

- You will be provided with a detailed information package about the festival site and your responsibilities in advance to the festival.
- You will be provided with a Secret Solstice volunteer T-Shirt and a Hi-Vis vest from volunteer accreditation before you placement. It’s mandatory to wear said items during your shift.
- Please wear closed-toe shoes (no sandals or heels) while on duty.
Shifts:
1 x 12 hour shift is required for a Weekend Wristband.
Volunteer Crew Chiefs
Volunteers on this crew would be helping our Volunteer Management Team onsite at the festival. Supervising other volunteers, making sure everyone is in the right place and that all the volunteers are happy and doing the best job possible.
Note: You will receive a letter of recommendation from Festival Management after successfully finishing your placement.
Preferred experience and skills:
- Previous experience with managing staff.
- Previous festival experience.
- Organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently.

Pre-Festival Volunteer Roles
From 17th of june 2019 we will be setting up the site and need physical able people for decorations and build.
You need to complete 2 x 12 hour shifts to get a Festival Wristband.
