Day Two Roundup – Secret Solstice 2017
Yesterday at Secret Solstice was something else. The young Icelandic punk band Hórmónar kicked off the evening at Valhöll and the legendary rockstars of Foo Fighters ended it with the midnight sun shining in their faces.
Hip-hop enthusiasts also got to witness the African rapper Ata Kak, Roots Manuva, who has been described as one of the most influential artists in British music history and Pharoahe Monch who ended the night at Gimli.
Yes, there is a lot of music to be found spread across our five stages. Even though we emphasize our foreign line-up, don’t forget that the massive Icelandic music scene is absolutely bursting with creativity. Reykjavík is a playground for musicians and Secret Solstice is their harvest. If you’re a singer like Högni, a DJ like BenSól, punk band like Skrattar or maybe the illustrious rappers from Shades of Reykjavík, Secret Solstice Festival is for everyone.
