The Midnight Sun Festival x Iceland

Day Two Roundup – Secret Solstice 2017

Yesterday at Secret Solstice was something else. The young Icelandic punk band Hórmónar kicked off the evening at Valhöll and the legendary rockstars of Foo Fighters ended it with the midnight sun shining in their faces.

Yes, there is a lot of music to be found spread across our five stages. Even though we emphasize our foreign line-up, don’t forget that the massive Icelandic music scene is absolutely bursting with creativity. Reykjavík is a playground for musicians and Secret Solstice is their harvest. If you’re a singer like Högni, a DJ like BenSól, punk band like Skrattar or maybe the illustrious rappers from Shades of Reykjavík, Secret Solstice Festival is for everyone.

If you manage to climb out of bed before noon today we recommend checking out local youngsters Smjörvi and Hrannar who will be opening the doors to Fenrir with their eccentric beats and unusual rhymes at 13:20. You’ll also be right on time for Cyber, the female rap duo which takes the stage at Gimli at 15:50. If it’s too early in the day for hip-hop for you, head to Askur, where a mixture of DJ’s from all around the world will be playing all day with the British icon Artwork closing at 21:00.

If not, we’re sure we’ll see you all for a once-in-a-lifetime experience at Valhöll when The Prodigy take the stage at 22:00.

Have fun and stay safe! Tickets still available at our main gate.
