10 Reasons Secret Solstice is Unlike any other Event on Earth

Look, we’re not trying to pretend we’re one thousand times more amazing than any other music festival on the planet (we are though, but we’re trying not to be immodest), but there are certain things that Secret Solstice has, that most events just cannot boast.

Music aside (because we all know the incredible artists who will be attending our second event), here are ten reasons you’ll be drooling over the idea of coming to Secret Solstice 2015. That is, if you haven’t already got a ticket…

1. THE MIDNIGHT SUN

There’s no other festival where you can party in a place where the sun doesn’t ever fully set. Period. If that’s not enough of a reason to come and shake your thing at Secret Solstice 2015, we don’t know what is.

2. BEER IS PROBABLY CHEAPER THAN AT HOME

You know the usual drill. You go to a music festival and spend hundreds of dollars on over-priced drink over the course of the event, and go home with nothing in your pocket, right? Not at Secret Solstice. In 2014 you could grab a large beer for only 750kr (approx £3.60/$5.30/€5.00), which means it’s comparable (or in some cases even less) than grabbing a pint at your local pub. What’s not to like about that?

3. ON-SITE GEOTHERMAL POOL

Have you ever been to a music festival that had a geothermal pool warmed by the very hellfire of a volcano? If you said yes, you’re either a liar, or came to Secret Solstice last year. There truly is nothing like soaking away a massive hangover in a warm pool, if you went a little too overboard on drink the previous night.

4. GEOTHERMAL POOLS EVERYWHERE ELSE…

If the one on site isn’t enough, then there are dozens more literally within an hour or two drive from our festival site. You really are spoiled for choice when you decide to come and hang out with us at Secret Solstice 2015.

5. THE EPIC NATURAL ATTRACTIONS

If you’re coming from abroad (as many of you are) to party at Secret Solstice this June, you’re likely going to want to take in some of the local Icelandic eye-candy while you’re here. Whether it’s one of the hundreds of incredible waterfalls, geothermal hotspots, alien landscapes, geysers, or anything else you could possibly imagine, most of it is only a short drive from our festival site.

6. WE HAVE A VIKING HOLDING A GUITAR

Self explanatory, really.

7. THE FOOD

Sure, you can grab a famous Icelandic hotdog, bowl of steaming meat soup, or square burger many places in Reykjavík, but there is only one event where you can get them all in one place. Also, if you’re feeling adventurous, you can sample some of Iceland’s stranger food around the festival site in the capital, including whale, puffin, or fermented (some would say rotten) shark. Be warned though, some of these are only for those with strong a strong constitution.

8. BJÖRK HANGS OUT WITH US

Any event is a great one if the queen of Icelandic music is attending. And if it’s good enough for Björk, you know you’re going to have a blast.

Although this isn’t really a benefit you can’t get at any other event, we wanted to mention it anyway. With discounted tickets now on sale for only 17,900 ISK, this is the best price you’ll get on a festival pass for our 2015 event. Be warned, the ticket price is going to rise either on April 1st, or when this allocation sells out. There really isn’t a reason you should be waiting.
