Announcing The World’s First Public Gig Inside A Volcano
Last year we did something truly special when we announced the world’s first gig inside a glacier within Langjökull, which we’ve already announced we’re doing again in 2016. And although it’s been by far the most popular side-event at Secret Solstice festival, we wanted to do something new and incredible in 2016, to match last year’s announcement.
With this in mind, we’re extremely excited to announce Secret Solstice presents Inside The Volcano, set for the 18th of June 2016 – the world’s first ever public performance inside the magma chamber of a volcano.
Picture this: you leave Reykjavík via helicopter in the afternoon, being airlifted in style to the mouth of the Thrihnukagigur volcano. Accompanied only by a small group of 20 people, you’re transported via a lift through the open maw of the volcano, down 400ft into the Earth, more than the height of the Statue Of Liberty, if it was buried underground.
Once inside, you’ll be treated to the view of a lifetime, surrounded by rock walls that once held back an onslaught of molten rock from the Earth’s core. But don’t let that sway you from attending, the last time Thrihnukagigur erupted was around the time the Great Pyramid of Giza was being built, around 4000 years ago.
It’s here in this subterranean volcanic chamber that you’ll be treated to a world-first concert of a lifetime that only 20 ticket holders will be a part of, featuring an acoustic performance by an extremely well-known international artist. While we’re keeping their name a secret for now, we promise you’ll be extremely impressed with who it is when we finally make the big reveal.
We couldn’t be more excited to be presenting this extremely unique and world-first gig, and we’d love you to be a part of it on the 18th of June 2016 in Iceland. Only 20 tickets are available to purchase at 250,000 Icelandic krona (approx. £1380/$1970/€1770), and will sell out fast via Tix or our international travel ticketing partner Festicket. Each ticket includes the performance inside Thrihnukagigur, helicopter transport from Reykjavík (weather permitting), and refreshments inside the magma chamber.
Each ticket to Secret Solstice presents Inside The Volcano also includes a full VIP pass to Secret Solstice 2016, held between the 16th-19th of June 2016.
The term “once-in-a-lifetime” gets thrown around a lot when it comes to events, though we think Secret Solstice presents Inside The Volcano truly earns that accolade.
SAFETY NOTICE: Secret Solstice Festival and Inside The Volcano are committed to the safety and security of guests. Refreshments will be provided within the crater, however any guests who are considerably intoxicated before the commencement of Secret Solstice presents Inside The Volcano will be refused their spot on the tour, at complete forfeiture of the ticket.
